I thoroughly enjoy sex and I’m not shy about it. I have vowed to post at least 8 blog posts about sex in the month of January. I hope you all are ready for honest conversations and assessments on sex.
Whenever there is a discussion of social unrest or oppressive systems there should always be a race, gender, and class analysis. The conversation has shifted. The media and social media are now basing the morality of an inherently racist nation on the backs of black people, yet again. It is a racist trope used to reinforce the idea that black people, especially black women, exist solely to be exploited by white people. Reject it.
My perspective, although rooted in my race, is also defined by my gender. I am a black woman, and I will not choose one liberation over the other. I will have both or I will die trying. I don’t have the ability to choose race over gender or gender over race.
If it requires more than a basic level answer/explanation, I usually ignore it. When the oppressed spend time educating their oppressors, they are taking time away from their pursuance of liberation, and are distracted with the needs of their oppressor.
My intentions are always clear, whether I’m looking for a job, making new friends, asking a random question, or looking for a romantic partner, whatever the hell it is, I’m real with it.
